ACS meets sailors wherever they start:
National Take Our Youth Boating Week is June 27 – July 6, and we're challenging the ACS community to take part! Get a young person (under 18) out on the water, snap a photo or a short video (30 seconds max), and enter the Spirit of America Foundation's national contest — the top three entries showing safe boating practices win prizes. Send your entries to Entries@SpiritofAmerica95.org, and be sure to tag Augusta Community Sailing when you post so we can celebrate our local sailors. Remember: lifejackets on everyone, on land, dock, and water. Full rules are on the flyer below.
Thanks to our donors, Augusta Community Sailing seized an opportunity this spring: six nearly-new 2023 Fulcrum Rocket sailboats, a coach boat, a Carolina Skiff, and a jon boat — a package valued at over $60,000 — secured for just $12,000 plus delivery. Donor support also funded a dedicated 420 trailer that gets our high school sailors to regattas and protects the fleet between events.
The Rockets are already on the water at Clarks Hill, powering our adult learn-to-sail classes and club racing — rigged, test-sailed, and given enthusiastic reviews by our own instructors. The skiff and jon boat will support coaching, safety, and regatta operations.
But the campaign isn't finished. We've raised $10,500 toward our $20,000 goal, which covers the acquisition, delivery, rigging, and first-year upkeep of the fleet. Just $9,500 remains. Every dollar you give keeps these boats teaching new sailors for years to come — help us close the gap.
