On July 1, the ACS Youth Advisory Board took over Augusta Sailing Club's Wednesday Fun Sail and hosted their own. Eighteen kids and over 50 people in all turned out for the event.
ASC juniors brought friends and guided them through their first sail, from rigging the boats to derigging at the end of the night. In between, sailors practiced capsizing and righting ("turtling") their boats, piled onto the swim mat, and waged a few water gun battles. Volunteers ran safety boats throughout the evening and cooked a taco dinner for the whole crew.
Thanks to everyone who sailed, swam, volunteered, and came out to make the YAB's night on the water a big success.
