Augusta Community Sailing's High School Sailing program gives student-athletes from across the CSRA the opportunity to train, race, and compete as part of the SAISA North league. Sailors develop technical skills, teamwork, leadership, and confidence through regular practices, regattas, and classroom instruction, on one of the most beautiful training grounds in the Southeast, Clarks Hill Lake.

A Growing Regional Program
A Growing Regional Program
Our sailors come from six area schools across Richmond and Columbia counties — Aquinas, Lakeside, Evans, Greenbrier, Harlem, and homeschool families, training together weekly throughout the season.
In recent seasons our varsity and composite teams have traveled to regattas across the Southeast, including Jacksonville, FL, Charleston, SC & Columbia, SC.
The program builds leaders: many of our high school sailors give back by volunteering 40+ hours each summer helping run youth sail camps. In 2026, three graduating seniors carried their ACS experience on to Clemson, Texas A&M, and Georgia Tech.

Current partner high school: Aquinas High School
Students participating from other area high schools including Lakeside, Evans, Greenbrier, Harlem and Homeschool.

Our High School Sailing program is led by dedicated volunteer coaches Dan and Kim Bagnoni, supported by the parents of our sailors and our partnership with Aquinas High School. Their commitment — week after week, season after season — is what makes this program possible.
As interest grows and more students from more schools join, so does the demand on our volunteer coaches and equipment. Sustaining and expanding the program is one of ACS's top priorities, so that every student who wants to sail and compete has the coaching and boats to do it.
